Boagie our cocker spaniel, when we leave our house we lock him up in a crate.we do this because he tears up the house if we don't. He has been really great about the crate until recently. He has been trying to escape and got his head stuck in one of the plastic crates and one of the metal fold up crates. He has been using his teeth to bend the metal bars on the doors. The last two time there has been a lot of blood. If he keeps it up he won't have any teeth. What do we do?

Crate Training 9wk old Puppy.?

My 9wk old mini dachshund puppy recently got introduced to the crate. She hated it when I first brought it to her attention, but I put a trail of treats into the crate and since then she has been going in on her own and laying down. I praise her and give her treats when she does go in and continually for a long period of time. She now goes in and the Vet told me to close to front to get her to like the crate. So today I did, she hasn't stopped whining and crying and chewing on the cage since I put her in there. I want to let her out so bad, first because she sounds horrible, and two because it seems so cruel. But she went in on her own terms I just closed the door. HELP WHAT DO I DO? Do I take her out or do I leave her in there and hopefully the whining and crying will subside? I don't want her to hate the crate because of all of this whining. I live in a town that adopted an Ordinance that gives them the right to trap all the feral and stray cats and euthanize them and they have been doing that. It breaks my heart. I formed a Organization and solicited the help of Alley Cat Allies to try to help us save our cats. I was feeding a colony of 10 that is now down to 2 and I fear for their lives every day. It sounds to me like Otis is warming up to you slowly which is all you can expect from him. It is hard for us to imagine what they go through on the streets. Do you know how many people hate cats? I am finding out real fast by working with our problem. They do all kinds of things to harm them and I'm sure poor little Otis went through some of those things at the hand of a human being. It's going to take time. I have had strays that took as much as a year to warm up but you just have to let them go. That should attest to the fact that cats have feelings and make you love him all the more. As far as your new kitty goes I think you should put her with Otis. Please don't punish him because he is frightened by her. They may spat for a while but believe me when I tell you this - they WILL eventually love each other and you will see them cuddling up and sleeping or washing each other. You must take Otis out of isolation immediately because you are only making matters worse. Don't fear for Vera. She has claws and when she needs to she will use them. As far as training Otis. Have you tried the squirt bottle filled with water? That works with 99.9% of all cats for training them what not to do or where not to go. Well I've said enough and I surely hope you'll take my advice and give it time and please remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Patience prevails.

I have cotton mouth and drinking water hasn't helped. Could it be half the half pizza I ate?

So I am a little worried that I might be borderline to getting Type 2 Diabetes. In January, I went to the doctor and he asked me a series of questions and than said I don't have diabetes. At the time, I was eating really bad and lots of coffee everyday and sweets such as cookies and pastries. My mouth started to get super dry and drinking lots of water never helped. As a result, I would go to the bathroom every 15-20 mins until the water I drank got all flushed out. Since than I've been trying to watch what I eat. Staying away from too much sugar and pretty much cut my coffee consumption by half. The dry mouth eventually went away after 2 weeks. Fast forward to present day, I woke up this morning with a dry cotton mouth. My mouth hasn't been this dry since January. Looking back at what I ate yesterday, I'd say that my sugar intake was the same it's always been since I reduced it. I had a piece of chocolate, an iced vanilla latte and a small piece of lemon tart from starbucks. The biggest change to what I had yesterday was that I ate half a pizza (about 4 slices) I made from home. I bought the ready made dough, sauce, cheese from Whole Foods. My question is could this half large pizza be the result of why my mouth is dry this morning? Or do you think it was the coffee and sweets? Like I said, I've been including a small piece of chocolate or some sort of sweet and a 12 oz of latte every once and a while and I haven't had this problem. So I am guessing its mainly the sugar in the pizza dough and sauce?

Take the puff pastry and make little tart shells by putting the pastry in muffin tins. Bake til brown. Whip the heavy cream with a small amount of powdered sugar and vanilla extract until fluffy. If you have enough of the cream, reserve some for garnish. Fold in the lemon curd til mixed and put in the baked shells. Slice some fresh strawberries and allow them to macerate with about a tablespoon of sugar. Put some strawberries on top. If you have any left over whipped cream, put a spoonful on top. (I'd avoid Cool Whip because the chemical, fake taste won't be as good as real whipped cream.)

Okay I'm 15 years old an I'm trying to quit dipping. I have been dipping a can a day for a year an 8 months an before I started dippin I smoked a pack a day but I used dip to quit smoking. It's not the nicotine that's hard to quit it's the taste. All I ever dip is grizzly wintergreen an Copenhagen wintergreen. Where can I find a better base for my rat cage?

My rats have been chewing holes in their plastic base to the cage they are in. They have plenty of things to chew on so i just want to get a different base. Most people suggest buying a cage with a metal base but I don't want to buy a completely new and expensive cage. Is there somewhere I can get a metal bin or pan or something to use as a base? i had an car accident in the 24th of this month. it was the other guy's fault. he went/didn't stop on the stop sign. and my car hited his car. i was on the freeway. and it was the worse night of my life ever. my car is screwed, and the other guy he DID NOT have any insurance for his car. but luckly thank god, i got uninsured motorists on my own insurance. but my insurance would only pay for my car and meds bills. so i gotta pay the car totaled fee out from my own pocket, and im a college student, the fee for the car being towing is around 600 dollars by towing from and accident, and now to my place. and if i dont bring my car back or take it to somewhere else. the car totale company will charge me 21 dollars a day. and i spoke to the owner of the car totaled company, he told me the person that involved in this accident with me(the guy that blow off the stop sign, and didn't have insurance) he's just an crack-head, i probably wont take anything from him even if i sue him. and now im so pissed, because of some irresponsible crackhead driver did not have insurance, that almost took my life from me. and put me into this. AND now i had take the money out from my own pocket to pay the car totaled bill. i've wish he was died in that accident. and please excuse me. but anyway, what im thinking right now is that if i sue him, and he does not have anything to pay me or i can take from, can i ask the judge to transfer the car totaled company bill to the otherday instead of me? and i dont have the money to hire a lawyer, i'll probably just bring him the an small claim court.

Help, Its ruining my teeth?

So I have had my braces on for a long time, 3-4 years and my teeth werent bad to begin with, just an overbite. I was supposed to get my top braces off two days ago but they said they wanted to get rid of a space inbetween two of my teeth so they put these bands that overlp my wires and go around my brackets. Before, the braces have not helped my ovebite but within two hours, my mother could already notice a difference. My teeth hurt so bad that I cant chew, Alls ive eaten is pudding and soup, and no, my teeth have been pulled in so far that when i close my mouth normally, my top front teeth are directly above my bottom fromt teeth and so only my top 2 and bottom 2 teeth touch when i normally close my mouth, for it to be somewhat normal I have to slide my jaw back alot. I was supposed to schedule an appt. for 2-3 weeks but they coulden't get me in for 2 months so... if two days has already overcorrected my teech, and the bands are still pulling really tight, will they ruin my teeth? i live in CA; was in an accident with another motorist feb. 2010 and we both had the same insurance company (since the accident i am no longer a policy holder with them). the company determined that neither party was "at fault"--50/50 split down the middle--therefore insurance ended up paying half of my damages. i just got a letter today (over a year later) saying that they are reversing their decision and saying i was the at fault party and now they are trying to recover the damages for the other person. is this something they can do and how is this legal?

You can get rear-ended. Speed survey in my area shows 85th percentile speed is 80 but limit is 55. Since most people already go around 80, why is it bad to raise limit to 85 in Texas?

Safe alternative to Tylenol for teething?

My daughter is 4 month old, and the past few days she has been waking in the night due to teething pain. Sometimes she is really crabby because of it as well, which I can't say I blame her, probably hurts! I have been giving her Tylenol the past 2 days because of a fever and pain from immunizations and she seems to feel much better after. I just don't want to constantly give her Tylenol due to the whole liver failure thing. I know I can do the cold rings and freezing a wash cloth- But I need some ideas for at night so that she can sleep properly and not constantly wake up fussing. If it's something safer than Tylenol that I can use during the day as well, that would be great too. I just feel so bad for her, she's always chewing on her finger, she looooves when I rub her bottom front gums w/ my finger, and sometimes she seems like she's really in some discomfort. At her 4 month well baby appointment on Monday, her Dr said she was teething as well. My brother SWEARS by the whiskey method, but I don't think I could do that. Energetic border collie puppy destroys all her toys? Any suggestions?

She is almost 6 months old and despite buying some expensive tuff or chew guard toys she finds a way to rip them open very quickly. I have a lab and have had a golden retriever before and never had this problem. I can only use the kongs and toys like that, which is okay- but sort of boring for her and my lab. Oh n for the recording her alone , see wat she does leave a lot of chew toys around the room and the instant you see her trying to bite anything not chewable get in the room and make a Loud noise. What will happen if i eat 300 calories a day or not enough?

i just got braces and they are extremely painful (never under estimate how bad they can be ;) ) and painkillers don't work so i've only been able to eat about 300 calories as it's a very strong pain. i know this will get better, but when i first got them and had no pain, i couldn't eat anything either as i couldn't chew without all my food getting stuck in my braces and i have a piece of plastic in the roof of my mouth that makes it harder. i'm also very picky with food so there isn't very much i want to eat that i can eat. what sort of effects will i get like putting on all the fat i eat?

Victim of hit and run on my parked car? Other party unknown?

My vehicle was parked at a college campus while I was in class, during that time it was hit by someone. I contacted local campus police and they cannot see anyone hit my car on the security camera (the camera is at a strange angle and my car is only visible from about 500 ft. away). I have liability and uninsured motorist coverage in Texas from Allstate. Allstate is saying that they will not cover the damage because I do not have full coverage (my car isn't covered if I hit someone and its my fault) However, they also have no one to go after because the person who hit me is unknown. If the person who hit me is identified, and doesn't have insurance, then I am covered under the uninsured motorist coverage. Is it possible for this to be covered somehow? What are my options? It looks like its about $1200 in damage, and my student budget doesn't really allow for that expense. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've always wanted to be a pastry chef and open my own bakery. They are extremely popular nowadays so it'd be a wise choice I suppose? It'd be easy for me to get student loans and go to scottsdale culinary institute and get my practice there. That could open a lot of doors... however, I'm also a huge forensic/medical examiner fan. I love watching the murder forensic shows, and human anatomy facinates me! I would loveeee to be a medical examiner, but the schooling is 14+ years and I think it'd be really hard to maintain everything with schooling/grades/etc. I'm worried i'd get a year into it and possibly change my mind? :/ that'd be a huge waste of money (i'd be paying for college myself btw) and I definitely don't want a $200,000 bill stressing me out for years til its paid off. I was driving down the road in a 35mph zone and there was a car pulled over with it's hazards on. In front of me,, there was a black plain charger who started to slow down as if to help the stranded motorists. As the charger slowed down, I went around it and headed home. The charger followed me home. I had parked in the street and not in the driveway because I was working on a car in the driveway. The charger pulled behind me and out stepped a sheriff's deputy who started questioning me why I went around him? He did pull me over. He followed me home. I explained to him why I went around him. He claimed I was doing 40mph, but mind you he was slowing down in front of me, so I was slowing down from 35mph as well. He started to say he could do this and he culd do that. He questioned me about which house I lived in and when I pointed out my home, he kept saying "the house with the gray car in the driveway, I do not know what you are pointing at", mind you we are standing in front of the house. We continue to talk because he would not leave me alone, mind you I am not under arrest nor did he pull me over, nor did he have reason to. He called for "back up and four more police cruisers appeared and we all just stood around. He kept questioning me and making threats about towing my vehicle because the tag expired 3 days ago, but HE DID NOT PULL ME OVER FOR THAT. (which I got that fixed after the incident). End result, I received a ticket for talking back. But I did nothing in the first place. The taxpayers money was wasted when he called for backup that he did not need. I was not pulled over or arrested, so why was back up called? I just want to report this to someone because it was a waste of police time and iy is not right. I did nothing. That being said, if you were clocked by a cop running radar - how can he be certain you were the one he recoded. if there were other cars in the area at the time, a case could be made that the officer was mistaken. Remember, just because you got a ticket - does not mean you're guilty. Talk to an attorney about your case; you only get one shot at keeping your record clean.
